Why "The Yew Tree"?
Our restaurant takes its name from the scenic door of St Edward's Church in Stow. Known for its picturesque arched wooden doorway bound by a pair of ancient yew trees, it's said to have inspired J.R.R. Tolkien's 'Doors of Durin'.
Our kitchen team prides itself on making as much as possible in house, from the bread served at dinner to the jam at breakfast. We use local produce from within 30 miles wherever possible, with the emphasis on seasonality and flavour, from responsible, quality suppliers.
